This is my graffiti drawing

I have made it by art education,

You can see much of different themes in this drawing,

It is very colourfull, I like that!

The thing I like the most of it, are the funny puppets in the corners,

And I have got an 8 for it!

The girl  with the skipping rod

For ‘the girl with the skipping rod’ is 2006 a special year, then she will be 40!

But alas on her 39^th in the night of Wednesday the 1^st December 2004 she was kidnapped by vandals, she was thrown of her pedestal and ever since we never y heard of her again…

The girl with the skipping rod (but without a skipping rod) was placed in 1966. It was a gift from the municipality of Axel to the obs Marijkeschool because the school was 10 years old. This little statue is distinctive for this school.

She was made by the artist H. Groenhuis (born in Utrecht, 1939). The statue was regularly thrown of the pedestal. The statue was renovated by Ernest Joachim. By the renovating was no trace founded of attachment points for a (bronze) skipping rope. The question is if there ever was a skipping rope. With the helpings from the Municipality of Terneuzen was made a new statue. Not from bronze, but amberite.
